Under the direction of the President, the Production Supervisor will manage a team, deadlines and compliance to carry out sorbent and catalyst production. Production quantities may vary from pounds to tons of finished product(s). Multiple processes are used that involve mixers, extruders, presses, tanks, and furnaces. This role requires production at all scales, with adequate notes and observations to facilitate historical record, reproduction, and further scale-up activities. Production requires handling and transfer of large amounts of material and chemicals. The role requires the ability to handle introduction of new processes and materials and multi-task to complete multiple production processes and schedules concurrently.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervise, support, and assist 3-4 Production Technicians in a small, advanced materials manufacturing facility
- Administer policies and procedures
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance at the work site and regular presence on the production floor
- Responsible for executing daily, weekly, and long-term production plans and schedules.
- Maintain physical and electronic batch manufacturing record daily
- Track and record inventory for raw materials usage, finished products, and works in progress using a database tool
- Maintain quality control procedures to ensure materials produced meet or exceed quality standards
- Order raw materials ahead of scheduled production runs
- Coordinate shipping of finished product and receiving of raw materials both domestically and internationally including preparation of shipping documentation (e.g., packing slips, labels, BOLs, SLI, etc.)
- Coordinate with maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in good working condition
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines
- Communicate and coordinate across a cross-functional team including engineers, EH&S, maintenance, logistics, sub-contractors, and sales
- Supervisor role may require off-shift and weekend work on an as-needed basis, and some travel (less than 5%)
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience
- Excellent chemical hygiene
- Experience with Batch Manufacturing Processing and Production procedures
- Strong proficiency with computers, internet navigation, electronic file structures, and the Microsoft suite
- Strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently, and sound judgment and problem solving
- Professional demeanor
- Flexibility with responsibilities and tasks, and proven ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, and solvents
- Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles
- Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial or manufacturing management, or engineering
- Eligible to be a certified fork-lift driver
- Experience with production flow and packaging
- Experience in streamlining and improving production processes knowledge in supply chain management
- Experience troubleshooting product and process issues
- Eligible to be Hazmat shipping certified
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds occasionally
- Fine motor skills for use of machinery, a computer and phone
- High level of visual acuity, with correction acceptable for proper use of machinery
- Ability to wear and properly use Personal Protective Equipment
- Respiratory protection requires limited facial hair to ensure proper fit
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling to perform manufacturing duties
- Frequent use of ladders
- Variable noise levels (manufacturing environment office environment, lab environment and)
- Variable temperatures (requires work inside and outside the facilities)
